TCF pour le Québec

Since 16 October 2006, the Quebec Ministry of Immigration (MICC) has required people submitting applications to immigrate to Quebec to provide proof of their level of competency in French by taking the "TCF pour le Québec", or TCF test for Quebec. This test can only be taken by people who submit an immigration application at a Quebec immigration office or at Délégations Générales du Québec, Quebec government offices abroad.

The TCF for Quebec was designed to meet the requirements of the Quebec authorities which make compulsory and systematic the passing of standardized French tests and exams as part of the procedures for obtaining the Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) leading to the issuance a permanent visa. The French and Francophones are also affected by this measure.

Since August 1, 2013, the Quebec authorities require at least level B2 to award a maximum of 16 points for this language assessment.
